Does Pakistan Presidency Election count as a politics news?

I have to do a project and my topic is politics and I found this great article about Pakistan Election. Do you think it is a politics news?

    Well, as a blanket statement, you can say that reports about any election can be considered as political news. Considering that the President is the most powerful office-bearer in Pakistan, it is more justified. However considering the way democracy works (rather does not work!), and the way a military general has held the democracy hostage for many years this particular case is more of a joke! (that is sarcastically speaking)
